Keys for Success

AI Datacenter expansion remains a key driver for growth. Customer demand is growing faster than supply, with bits expected to remain on allocation beyond calendar 2027. Fiscal 4Q2026 Datacenter revenue rose 103% sequentially to $2.98 billion as SanDisk scaled compute-focused TLC enterprise SSDs across hyperscale and AI infrastructure customers. Datacenter represented 38% of its portfolio, up from roughly 12% a year earlier.

SanDisk is benefiting from a better mix and margin expansion. Fiscal 4Q2026 revenue increased 51% sequentially to $8.97 billion, with about one-third of the growth from higher volumes and two-thirds from higher pricing. Non-GAAP gross margin rose to 84.6% from 78.4% in fiscal 4Q2026. Edge revenue increased 48% sequentially to $5.43 billion as the business continued to serve premium PC and smartphone configurations with higher storage content.

SanDisk expanded its New Business Model framework in fiscal fourth-quarter 2026, adding three new customers and two expansions to previously signed agreements to increase visibility. The company now has NBMs (structured, long-term commercial agreements designed to replace volatile spot-market pricing with multi-year commitments) with eight Datacenter and Edge customers, with a weighted average duration of more than four years. Management expects these agreements to cover more than 50% of bits in fiscal 2027 and about two-thirds in fiscal 2028.

Free cash flow reached $5.04 billion in fiscal 4Q2026, equal to a 56% margin. SanDisk ended fiscal 2026 with $4.76 billion of cash and no long-term debt. Fiscal 2027 capital spending is expected to rise year over year but decline to about 6% of revenue, preserving room for technology transitions and buybacks.

Keys for Concern

SanDisk expects customer demand to grow faster than supply and says bits will remain on allocation beyond calendar 2027. This can support pricing and mix, but it also limits the volume SanDisk can capture.

About two-thirds of fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 sequential revenue growth came from higher pricing. Management also sees PC and smartphone unit volumes down in the mid-teens during calendar 2026 before flattening in calendar 2027. Fiscal 2027 capital spending will increase as the company ramps both BiCS8 and BiCS10. Delays or yield issues across these transitions could reduce product-mix benefits and constrain supply growth.

Flash Ventures supplies all SanDisk flash memory wafers through Kioxia, leaving manufacturing closely tied to the joint-venture roadmap and operating agreements. The ventures now run through Dec. 31, 2034.

Mark Notes

SanDisk stock has become one of 2026’s biggest stock market stories, surging 696% year to date and 1,749% over 12 months. SanDisk has evolved from a consumer-storage brand into one of the market’s hottest artificial-intelligence infrastructure plays. The company has backed it up with operational momentum, beating top- and bottom-line estimates in each of the past four quarters.

Nvidia and AMD GPUs provide the computing brain, while SanDisk supplies the flash storage that keeps datasets, model weights, and user context within reach. SanDisk’s valuation looks restrained for a stock that has climbed 644% this year. Consensus fiscal 2027 EPS of $213.90, up 201.78%, alongside $48.95 billion in revenue. At $1,853, the shares trade at 8.26 times those earnings.
